X5 UPGRADE STEP BY STEP WITH IPOTWEB

Objectives:

• Get new features from newest software version
• Resolve a software version bug
• Steps 1-2-3: Download current X5 Files and Preferences to ipotweb
• Steps 4-5-6-7: Upgrade in ipoweb current X5 Files and Preferences into latest X5 version
• Step 8: Upgrade X5 firmware to latest version 
• Step 9: USB X5 General Restore of Files and Preferences from ipotweb upgraded database

Equipment needed for the upgrade:

• VEI X5 monitor
• Computer with internet access
• Ipotweb session
• 1x USB Stick with VEI X5 newest software version on USB stick
• Follow this link to get latest version:  X5 SOFTWARE UPGRADE
• 1x USB Stick empty to save current X5 Files and Preferences 

* USB Stick must be formatted in MS-DOS FAT 32

Time required for this operation:

• 10 minutes

STEP 1: Validate weighing instrument version

This information is very important to know because it will be needed into ipotweb.

Current version bellow is:  VXP 00.02

• Visible at monitor startup or 

• Select:  Menu-) Preferences-) System-) System Info

STEP 2: If Vprint printer is present, Print VEI System Configuration as a backup*

* if Vprint is not present, go to step 3

NEW: EXPORT WEIGHT LOG FILES ON USB IF THE MONITOR HAS DATA !

STEP 3: VEI X5 General backup of Files and Preferences of customer

• Select:  Menu-) Preferences-) Utility-) General Backup-) F3-) Insert USB, F2 to proceed -) F3 to exit

STEP 4: Open ipotweb session

• www.ipotweb.com
• Username:   
• Password:    

STEP 5: Import X5 General backup to ipotweb

STEP 6: Export ipotweb X5 General backup to ipotweb

• Erase all the files on your USB stick
• Exit ipotweb
• Login in to ipotweb again

STEP 7: Organize your ipotweb ZIP Files and Preferences zip to your USB Stick

Quick tip: Its possible to put on the same USB stick the VEI upgrade + Files and Preferences export from ipotweb.

STEP 8: Upgrade the VEI Weighing monitor with latest version

IMPORTANT: BEFORE YOU PROCEED WITH THE UPGRADE, MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD YOUR WEIGHT LOG FILES TO YOUR USB! PROCEEDING WITH THE UPGRADE WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA!

STEP 9: USB X5 General Restore of Files and Preferences from ipotweb

DONE !
